SPECTRA Laparoscopic Electrodes

Spectra Laparoscopic Electrodes are designed and manufactured to be one of the safest products in the market place. Our electrodes have at least 50% to six times more insulation that most reusables or disposables on the market, depending on the style of Spectra Laparoscopic Electrode of choice.

According to most clinical studies on monpolar electrosurgery in laparoscopy, the three (3) potential causes for unexpected burns are Insulation Failure, Direct Coupling and Capacitive Coupling. The Spectra Laparoscopic Electrode addresses these issues in the following ways:

Insulation Thickness: Our Electrodes have the thickest insulation of any reusable or disposable in the market. Our flexible style has six (6) times more insulation than any product currently in the current marketplace. Our Rigid style has 50% more insulation than conventional electrodes.

Our proprietary insulation withstands heat resistance many times the heat built up in electrosurgery. With this substantial insulation on our Electrodes, the probability of insulation failure is drastically reduced.

Metal element design: We use a consistent metal element from Proximal end to Distal tip. The electrical energy is not diffused as it travels down the electrode and all the energy is focused on the tip. The result is less power to achieve the desired results.

Lower Wattage Settings: Because of the consistent metal element design, many surgeons report they can use lower wattage settings on the surgical generator. By using a lower power setting, this helps to limit the electromagnetic force field that helps to eliminate the potential for capacitive coupling.

Styles and Types of Spectra Electrodes

The Spectra Electrodes are available in two (2) specific styles and two (2) lengths, 30cm and 45cm long as standard products.

Flexible
This style allows the surgeon a touch sensitivity that is unparallel with other electrodes. This style bends more than a rigid style and is available in 32cm and 45cm in all of our tip configuration.

Rigid
This firm electrode is identical to the Firmness of a reusable that many surgeons prefer. Available in 32 and 45cm standard length in all tip configuration.

Vertex Gold
Our Vertex Gold tip configuration are non-stick and resist the build up of eschar. However, when eschar build up does occur, it can be easily removed with a sterile gauze sponge.

Customized Electrodes to your specifications

We are the only company to offer the surgeon the ability to customize the design of their Laparoscopic Electrodes to their needs. We can make them any way to fulfill that specific need the surgeon requires. We have the ability to modify the length, angle of tips, insulation lengths, to the most specifics design of the surgeon.
